Background
As part of our annual “UX for Good” initiative, we collaborated with Inclusys on an exciting user research project.
Inclusys is developing an innovative time management tool (smartwatch & tablet app) for people with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other conditions. The goal was to find out how people with cognitive impairments, especially those with limited understanding of time, can be better supported in their daily time structuring, and how caregivers can be assisted in this process through the use of a tablet.
Approach
We conducted the study in Germany with n=4 participants together with their n=5 caregivers. Our methods were adapted to the specific needs of the target group and included:
Pair interviews & exploratory conversations
Classic usability tests & F2F interviews
Tests in the users' familiar environment
Each interview session lasted approximately 2 hours.
